Qatar will host two major international connectivity conferences in Doha next month, bringing together policymakers, telecom operators and technology companies to discuss artificial intelligence, satellite connectivity and digital infrastructure.

GSMA’s Mobile World Congress 2026 Doha will run from November 8 to 10 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. It will overlap with the International Telecommunication Union’s Plenipotentiary Conference, which is scheduled for November 9 to 27 at the same venue.

MWC26 will focus on mobile technology, AI-powered solutions and digital infrastructure, while the ITU conference will set the organisation’s strategic direction and financial plans. The ITU includes 194 member states and more than 1,000 companies, universities and research institutes, according to the announcement.

The events come as AI and cloud computing drive demand for network capacity, while satellite technology creates new ways to connect areas outside the reach of conventional telecom networks. Qatar is positioning the joint hosting as an opportunity to strengthen its role in global technology and telecommunications policy discussions.

The GSMA Ministerial Program will also bring ministers, regulators and technology executives together to discuss digital governance and investment priorities.

The inaugural MWC Doha in 2025 attracted more than 9,000 attendees from 110 countries and territories, along with nearly 300 speakers and over 250 exhibitors and sponsors.
