Egypt’s Education Development Fund has signed a cooperation agreement with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce to prepare young people for the labour market and strengthen their professional and technology skills.
The partnership will support training aligned with the needs of the Egyptian and Canadian job markets, while expanding access to employment, remote freelancing and entrepreneurship opportunities. It will also cover support for establishing small and micro businesses in Egypt and Germany, as well as remote work skills for priority sectors in Canada and North America, according to the announcement.
The agreement includes English and French training through the fund’s educational platform. The two sides said the language programmes are intended to help young Egyptians prepare for work in international environments.
The initiative will also draw on Canadian experts in educational fields for short-term participation in training programmes, joint research and technical consulting. The aim is to support knowledge exchange and help align training programmes with international practices.
Rasha Saad Sherif, secretary-general of the Education Development Fund, said the agreement would expand the fund’s partnerships with economic and commercial institutions and help develop practical skills for changing labour markets. Canadian Chamber of Commerce President Fayez Ezz El Din said the cooperation would connect training more closely with sector needs and open further opportunities in entrepreneurship and remote work.
The agreement was signed by Sherif and Ezz El Din in the presence of representatives from both organisations.
