The Egyptian payments company plans to invest in technology, cybersecurity, operational capacity and partnerships as it enters a new phase of growth within the regional GlobalPay ecosystem.

Egyptian digital payments company MasrPay has completed a capital increase following approval from the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), strengthening its financial base and supporting its long-term expansion plans.

The company said the additional capital will support business growth, technology development, operational readiness and the expansion of partnerships with banks, businesses and merchants across Egypt’s payments ecosystem. The amount of the capital increase was not disclosed in the announcement.

Tamer Shawer, CEO of MasrPay, said the milestone reflects shareholders’ confidence in the company’s strategy and their continued commitment to investing in the Egyptian market.

The company’s next phase will focus on strengthening its technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, operational resilience and payment gateway capabilities, while preparing to handle higher transaction volumes and introduce new digital payment services.

MasrPay operates as part of GlobalPay, a UAE-headquartered regional group focused on investments and technology solutions in payments and financial technology. The group also has a presence in Saudi Arabia through GlobalPay KSA, also known as Alam Al-Dafaa.

The regional structure allows MasrPay to draw on shared expertise and capabilities while developing services tailored to Egypt’s regulatory and commercial environment.

The capital increase comes as MasrPay seeks to build a scalable business in Egypt through continued investment in its payment technology and stronger relationships across the local financial services ecosystem.
