Merit Tarek is building a career in beauty and entrepreneurship after beginning her public journey as a child actor and later working in advertising and fashion.

Tarek appeared in Ibrahim El Batout’s film “Hawi” as a child, playing a blind girl. Her performance earned her the Best Actress award at the Doha Tribeca Film Festival, according to the report.

She later developed an interest in beauty and skincare, completing a diploma through independent study before launching her own beauty and skincare business. Her work focuses on skincare, including helping customers understand their skin and make more informed choices about products and cosmetic procedures.

Tarek is also planning new beauty projects in Cairo as she works to expand her business activity in the sector.

Alongside entrepreneurship, she regularly trains in horse riding and competes in show jumping. She described equestrian sport as requiring patience, discipline and concentration, as well as trust between rider and horse.

“However dangerous it becomes, no rider can leave it or distance themselves from it,” Tarek said in a press interview, describing the sport as addictive for those who practise it.
