Alfaisal University and Saudi Airlines Cargo Company, known as Saudia Cargo, have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on artificial intelligence research, education and talent development for Saudi Arabia’s logistics sector.

The partnership will cover joint research involving students and faculty, curriculum development aligned with private-sector needs, and short-term internships through the Tamheer programme or cooperative training, subject to eligibility requirements. The organisations will also explore specialised workshops on AI applications in logistics, as well as conferences, seminars and initiatives focused on improving logistics services.

Saudia Cargo will consider professional development opportunities for its employees through Alfaisal University’s academic and training programmes. The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate AI programmes, while its Artificial Intelligence Center supports research and industry partnerships.

A steering committee, including representatives from both organisations, will monitor progress under the agreement. The MoU was signed by Dr. Khaled Al-Kattan, Alfaisal University’s vice president for finance and administration and dean of the College of Medicine, and Hashim H. Alsharif, Saudia Cargo’s vice president of strategy.
