Orange Egypt has partnered with UAE-based fintech platform Botim to let users in the UAE send money directly to Orange Cash wallets in Egypt.
The service connects Botim’s more than 2 million Egyptian users with Orange Cash’s network of approximately 10 million customers. Recipients can use the funds for transfers, payments and purchases, or withdraw them as cash.
Orange Cash users can access their funds through more than 300,000 cash-out points nationwide, including Orange stores, ATMs and authorised retailers, according to the announcement.
The agreement is Botim’s first partnership with a mobile operator in Egypt. It expands the platform’s remittance services, which include payments, remittances, lending and other financial products in the UAE.
Egypt is among Botim’s top five remittance corridors, the company said. The partnership links Botim’s UAE platform with Orange Cash’s local wallet network, giving Egyptian residents in the UAE a direct channel to send money to recipients in Egypt.
Orange Egypt, which serves more than 30 million customers nationwide, said the collaboration supports the expansion of Orange Cash and access to digital financial services.
