The Egyptian Exchange has signed a memorandum of understanding with Endeavor Egypt to help promising startups and fast-growing companies prepare for listing and access capital market financing.
The agreement was announced during a meeting attended by representatives of around 20 companies that are seriously considering an offering on the Egyptian Exchange in the coming period. The session was held with Endeavor Egypt and organised with support from the World Bank.
The partnership will focus on helping companies understand listing requirements, disclosure rules and corporate governance standards. It will also provide training programmes and workshops covering the strategic benefits of listing and modern trading rules.
The two organisations will coordinate on identifying companies with potential to go public, organising joint events and promoting investment opportunities in Egypt and abroad. Endeavor companies will also be connected with activities and initiatives run by the Egyptian Exchange’s innovation centre, CORBEH, including efforts focused on innovation and financial technology.
According to the announcement, the Egyptian Exchange will provide procedural, technical and educational support to companies working to meet regulatory and governance requirements. Listing could give these businesses access to additional funding for expansion, ongoing market valuations and more efficient options for acquisitions or capital increases.
The parties also agreed to launch a series of regular workshops and coordination meetings at the exchange to guide companies through the listing process and available financing channels.
