Egypt’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) has renewed its cooperation protocol with Rotary Egypt to support entrepreneurship and expand economic opportunities for young people and women.
The agreement, signed by MSMEDA CEO Mostafa Hassan and Rotary Egypt’s head Hisham Shawky, extends a protocol first signed in 2024. The partnership will focus on improving market access for small businesses through B2B and B2C networking, digital and traditional connections with suppliers and technical service providers, and stronger value-chain integration.
According to the announcement, the partners also plan to develop entrepreneurship training linked to market needs and provide technical advice to Rotary-affiliated business incubators.
The renewed cooperation will include financial and non-financial support for entrepreneurs, including funding products, skills development, marketing and help with market expansion. MSMEDA said it places particular emphasis on productive and industrial businesses.
Hassan also said that between July 2014 and June 2026, MSMEDA financed 943,300 women-led projects with EGP 19.6 billion, helping create about 1.3 million jobs. Loans directed to women accounted for 45% of all projects financed, according to the agency.
