Jordan’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship has concluded its Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Development and Employment project, which supported 697 startups since its launch in 2022.

The project, implemented with the German Agency for International Cooperation, supported 427 women-led companies. Beneficiary startups reported creating 748 decent jobs, while 350 said they had achieved business growth, according to a ministry statement.

The project was co-funded by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the European Union as part of efforts to implement Jordan’s National Entrepreneurship Policy 2021–2027. Its focus included improving startups’ access to finance and markets and making it easier to do business.

The closing took place during the New Horizons 2026 event at the University of Jordan Academy in Amman, bringing together startups, investors, private-sector representatives and entrepreneurship support organisations.

The event featured business-to-business meetings connecting startups with investors, buyers, suppliers and potential partners, alongside company presentations showcasing products and services. The ministry said the gathering was designed to help startups build commercial and investment relationships beyond the project’s end.

The initiative also supported entrepreneurship networks in Aqaba and northern Jordan, including Jerash and Mafraq, as well as the development of an investor club for women and a nationwide women’s entrepreneurship network.
