Zalin, Qamishli, hosted activities for Global Entrepreneurship Week from November 1 to 5, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, startup founders and youth initiatives showcasing projects across technology, artificial intelligence and other fields.

The program, held in Syria for the second consecutive year, formed part of an international initiative spanning around 188 countries. It focused on supporting innovation, developing new ventures and strengthening entrepreneurship culture.

Faten Faraj, a member of the event’s organizing team, said the activities created a space for entrepreneurs, investors and people with new ideas to meet relevant stakeholders, exchange experience and explore potential cooperation.

The event was organized as part of Startup Syria’s efforts to expand the entrepreneurship ecosystem, which the organizers said now reaches 34 Syrian cities. Institutions and youth initiatives also took part, including Beit Kano, which presented youth and development projects.

Among the showcased projects was a digital artificial intelligence tool developed by Inana Koria to translate Syriac words, phrases and terms. Koria said the project aims to support the preservation and use of the Syriac language through modern technology, including programming tools and improved translation accuracy.

The participation highlighted how local founders are using technology to address both social and cultural challenges.
