ADNOC and SLB Deploy AI Platform Across More Than 120 Drilling Rigs

ADNOC and SLB have deployed an AI-enabled Real-Time Operations Centre (RTOC) across more than 120 drilling rigs in the UAE, connecting onshore and offshore operations through a single platform.

The system brings live rig data, automated dashboards and AI-powered insights into one environment. According to the announcement, it replaces multiple tools, cuts engineering effort by 30% to 40%, and allows engineers to oversee two to three times more rigs.

RTOC also shortens reporting cycles from several days to hours, while analysis tasks that previously took a full day can be completed within minutes. By identifying potential issues earlier, the platform can reduce incident response times by four to 12 hours and help avoid one to two days of rig downtime, the companies said.

Enabled by SLB’s DrillOps solutions, the platform supports ADNOC Onshore and ADNOC Offshore teams in monitoring performance, coordinating activity and managing operational risks across ADNOC Drilling’s rig fleet.

Developed in the UAE and hosted in ADNOC’s cloud environment, RTOC keeps critical operational data and workflows within the country. The deployment is part of ADNOC’s broader effort to embed AI into core operations and move toward more autonomous drilling workflows.
