Algeria and Saudi Arabia are exploring new partnerships in innovation, venture capital and startup development following a series of meetings held during LEAP 2026 in Saudi Arabia.
Algeria’s minister for knowledge economy, startups and micro-enterprises met with representatives of several Saudi technology and entrepreneurship organisations, including BIM Ventures. Discussions covered startup acceleration, venture capital, soft landing support for Algerian companies entering new markets and open innovation.
The proposed cooperation aims to help Algerian startups access Gulf markets, investor networks and business opportunities in Saudi Arabia, according to the announcement.
BIM Ventures also participated in the African Startup Conference, alongside Saudi startups and investors. The event included the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Algerian startup Guiddini and BIM Ventures.
The minister also met Omar Al Shabaan, CEO of The Garage, a technology-focused incubator and accelerator. Talks with The Garage and representatives of Algeria-based accelerator Aventure focused on exchanging expertise and developing support programmes for Algerian startups seeking to enter Gulf markets.
The meetings form part of Algeria’s efforts to expand international partnerships for its knowledge economy and startup sector.
