The sixth cycle of Algeria’s Algerian Agripreneur program is already showing early results, with five participating entrepreneurs reaching the market within six months of the program’s launch.
The program, part of Algeria’s digital and green entrepreneurship development project, is also supporting the development of 30 prototypes as agritech founders test and refine new products and services.
One participating project has secured the “Innovative Project” label, while four others have submitted applications and nine additional files are being prepared. The program is also supporting a first group of agritech entrepreneurs pursuing the “Startup” label, alongside a second cohort focused on improving the technical and commercial potential of their ventures.
According to the program’s initial assessment, 85% of participants said they had achieved their goals, including strengthening entrepreneurial skills, turning early ideas into tangible projects, improving market access and launching new products or services.
The results highlight the role of incubation and acceleration programs in moving agricultural innovation from development to commercial activity. The initiative focuses on helping entrepreneurs build solutions for areas such as smart farming, water management, digitisation, production and distribution chains, and more efficient agricultural inputs.
