AMD, Cisco and Saudi Arabia’s PIF-owned AI company HUMAIN have brought an AMD Instinct MI355X GPU-based AI infrastructure cluster into production in the Kingdom. The platform is serving HUMAIN customers in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
According to AMD CEO Lisa Su, the deployment is the company’s largest inference cluster outside the US. HUMAIN CEO Tareq Amin said 13,000 AMD GPUs are expected to be deployed this year.
The infrastructure combines AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs and EPYC CPUs with Cisco Silicon One networking, 800G optics and Cisco’s N9000 Series platform. It is designed to support large-scale AI model training and inference.
The companies also plan to deploy up to 250 megawatts of additional AI infrastructure, powered by AMD’s Instinct MI400 Series GPUs and ROCm software, with capacity expected to begin coming online in the second half of 2027. The broader joint venture remains on track to reach up to 1 gigawatt of AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia by 2030.
The platform is aimed at governments, enterprises, research institutions and developers that want greater control over data location, model customisation and AI deployment. AMD and HUMAIN also announced an “AI in a Box” package for Saudi enterprises beginning their AI adoption journey.
