The Arab Innovation Network (AIN) has concluded its “AIN Challenges Hackathon 2026,” bringing together 236 students to work on 20 real-world challenges and access 65 opportunities in training, employment, incubation and mentoring.
The hackathon was held under the patronage of the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence, in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and hosted by Birzeit University. Safa Bank, Siniora Food Industries and Foothill Technology Solutions supported the event, which took place as part of AIN’s ninth annual conference.
According to AIN, the program was designed to connect students with practical problems submitted by partner companies and institutions, giving them a space to test ideas and develop solutions with potential for real-world application.
Eleven organisations contributed challenges and opportunities, including Siniora, TAP, Makani Hub, Flow, NexEra, 3E Technology, Erasmus+ and Gaza Sky Geeks.
The closing ceremony recognised Palestine Polytechnic University for excellence in student participation, as well as AIN chapters at An-Najah National University and Birzeit University. Winners of the Quiz Night competition and the volunteer and organising teams were also honoured.
AIN said the initiative aimed to extend beyond competition by turning student participation into pathways for practical experience, mentoring and professional development.
