The American University in the Emirates (AUE) and the Emirates Entrepreneurship Association have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation in entrepreneurship, innovation and startup support in the UAE.

The partnership will connect higher education with the business and entrepreneurship community, with a focus on turning academic knowledge into practical projects and initiatives with economic and social impact.

Planned areas of cooperation include joint incubator and accelerator programmes, executive education and training, mentoring, forums, hackathons, digital transformation and artificial intelligence initiatives. The partners will also seek to strengthen engagement with investors and private-sector organisations.

According to the announcement, AUE students will have opportunities to join entrepreneurship programmes, applied projects and practical training, while developing ideas into scalable ventures. The two organisations will also explore funding, sponsorship and strategic partnership opportunities to support entrepreneurial initiatives.

The agreement is intended to give students and entrepreneurs greater access to learning, mentorship, networks and innovation opportunities across the UAE startup ecosystem.
