About The Event
The “Build Your Startup in 4 Hours” hackathon is a hands-on challenge to go from a blank page to a real, working product. The event rejects traditional slide decks and roadmaps in favor of tangible output. On July 4th, participants will take over the ALX Maadi Hub with one mission: to build a real product for a real user that can be used immediately. While the theme is open to any startup idea, projects built specifically for the Egyptian and MENA markets are highly encouraged.
What to Expect
- Intensive Building Session: A focused, high-energy block dedicated to building a working product from the ground up using Manus AI.
- Live Demos: At the end of the session, each team will have just 90 seconds to present a live demo of their product. Slide-only pitches are not permitted.
- Team Formation: Applicants can apply as pre-formed teams of 2-3 (which get priority) or as solo builders who will be matched into teams on the day of the event.
- Mentorship & Networking: Mentors will be available throughout the afternoon to guide teams, and participants can connect with other builders in Cairo’s tech ecosystem.
- Prizes: The top three teams will win a one-month Manus Pro subscription for every team member, and their winning projects will be spotlighted across Manus and ALX channels.
Hackathon Details
The event operates under one core principle: every project must target a specific, real user. Demos must begin by introducing that user persona before showcasing the live product. To succeed, participants are encouraged to come prepared with a pre-existing idea and a Manus account already set up. Laptops and chargers are essential. The day will run from check-in and team formation at 1:00 PM to the final demos and prize ceremony concluding at 7:00 PM.

Aspiring builders and teams can apply to participate through the official event page. Applications close on Saturday, June 27, with confirmations sent out by Monday, June 29. Due to limited space and high demand, early application is recommended.
