DIFC Family Wealth Centre (DFWC) and the Arab International Women’s Forum (AIWF) have launched a programme aimed at increasing women’s participation in family business governance across the region.

The Women in Family Leadership and Governance Programme was announced during the “Women-Led Family Business in the Global Economy” roundtable and networking event at Dubai International Financial Centre. The initiative is being delivered with Hawkamah and AIWF.

According to the announcement, the programme will combine specialised education, peer engagement, mentorship and practical governance insights. It will focus on strengthening women’s roles in leadership, succession planning and strategic decision-making, while supporting greater representation on family and corporate boards.

The event, held as part of AIWF’s 25th anniversary programme, brought together business leaders from across the region to discuss women’s leadership, family business succession and the impact of changing technologies, including artificial intelligence, on established enterprises.

DFWC said its family wealth ecosystem includes 1,408 family business-related entities, up 36% year on year, and 1,409 foundations, up 67%. The centre supports family businesses and ultra-high-net-worth individuals with services related to succession planning, governance and intergenerational wealth preservation.
