Morocco registered 60,908 new companies in its commercial register during the first seven months of 2026, according to the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC).
Legal entities accounted for 45,898 registrations, or 75% of the total, while natural persons represented the remaining 15,010 registrations.
Among legal structures, single-member limited liability companies (SARL AU) made up 65% of registrations, followed by limited liability companies (SARL) at 33.9%.
Casablanca-Settat led corporate registrations with 39.3% of the national total. Rabat-Sale-Kenitra followed with 14.5%, ahead of Marrakech-Safi at 12.3% and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima at 10.8%. Together, the four regions accounted for 76.9% of newly created legal entities.
Trade was the largest activity among new legal entities, representing 27.22% of registrations. Construction and real estate accounted for 25.28%, followed by services at 20.03%, transport at 7.63% and industry at 6.3%.
OMPIC also issued 77,883 trade names, or negative certificates, between January and July. These certificates allow applicants to reserve a proposed business name before completing company registration.
