Egypt and Mali are exploring closer cooperation on entrepreneurship, small and medium-sized enterprises, vocational training and youth employment.
The discussions took place in Cairo between Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Oumou Sall Seck, Mali’s Minister of Entrepreneurship, Employment and Technical Training, on the sidelines of the seventh dialogue meeting of technical cooperation agencies from member states of the Islamic Development Bank.
According to the announcement, Abdelatty said Egypt is ready to share expertise and experience with Mali in supporting startups and SMEs, with a particular focus on strengthening young people’s skills and preparing them for the labour market.
The Egyptian minister also highlighted the two countries’ broader cooperation in areas including health, education, technical education and vocational training. He said these efforts aim to support development, build national capabilities and provide workers with skills aligned with market needs.
Egypt also offered to expand development cooperation and capacity building through the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development. Its training programmes and courses could support Mali’s national development priorities and strengthen bilateral ties, according to the announcement.
