Egypt’s Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade has begun trialling self-service units that allow investors to issue and print selected company documents around the clock.
The units can provide true copies of articles of incorporation, certificates of incorporation and establishment letters for sole proprietorships. Egyptian citizens will verify their identity using national ID cards, while foreign investors will use passport details. The process also includes electronic data matching, biometric verification and facial recognition.
According to the announcement, the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) plans to gradually deploy the units across Egypt’s 15 Investor Services Centres, as well as other entities involved in investment. The rollout is intended to reduce the time and paperwork involved in accessing official company records.
GAFI is also preparing a document delivery service with Egypt Post, which would allow investors to receive documents at a chosen address within the same working day.
The initiative follows recommendations from Egypt Forum 2026 on expanding digital government services. The ministry is also preparing amendments to the Executive Regulations of the Companies Law, including greater use of digital tools and fewer required documents.
