Egypt trained 15,000 young men and women in entrepreneurship and financial inclusion during September 2026, according to a report received by Local Development and Environment Minister Manal Awad.
The training was delivered across 90 Hayah Karima centers in 15 governorates, in cooperation with the Central Population Unit, Sonaa El Kheir Foundation, Banque Misr, Mashrouak and the Local Development Fund. Women accounted for 65% of participants during the month.
The latest figures bring the total number of people trained in entrepreneurship and financial inclusion since January to 88,000, representing 77% of the target planned for the year, according to the report.
The Central Population Unit also recorded 2,700 training, awareness, educational and service activities across Egypt during September, benefiting 212,000 people. The activities were carried out with government directorates, civil society organisations and universities.
Separately, the unit provided capacity-building and refresher training to 225 local population-program teams in Sohag, Qena, Qalyubia and Ismailia. The sessions covered local governance, population data analysis, problem identification, action planning and monitoring national population and development priorities.
Awad called for continued expansion of youth empowerment, entrepreneurship and financial inclusion programmes, alongside initiatives addressing local community needs.
