Egypt’s Local Development and Environment Ministry trained 30,000 young people in entrepreneurship and financial inclusion during August 2026, according to a report on activities carried out by its Central Population Unit.
The training took place across 90 centers in 15 governorates covered by the Haya Karima initiative. Women accounted for 55% of participants.
The program was delivered in cooperation with Sonaa El Kheir Foundation, Banque Misr, the Mashrouak initiative and the Local Development Fund as part of broader efforts to support youth and economic empowerment.
The report said population units across Egypt’s 27 governorates carried out 2,523 training, awareness, educational and service activities during the month, reaching around 214,000 people. These activities were conducted with government service directorates, regional universities, civil society organisations and specialised national councils.
The ministry also reported 43 community activities in four governorates under the Values and Life program, which focused on promoting positive values in workplaces and schools. Women represented 58% of participants in those activities.
Minister Manal Awad called for continued expansion of youth and women’s empowerment programs, entrepreneurship and financial inclusion initiatives, and coordination between government bodies, civil society organisations and universities.
