Egypt’s BrainsMingle Raises $400K From BasharSoft to Scale AI Networking Platform

4 Min Read

Egyptian startup BrainsMingle has closed a $400,000 pre-seed funding round to expand its AI-powered platform for professional networking. The investment was led by BasharSoft Group, the parent company of regional job portals WUZZUF and Forasna, marking its first strategic investment since acquiring iCareer. The startup aims to unify the fragmented set of tools professionals use for networking, mentorship, event hosting, and monetization.

Quick Facts

  • Funding: $400,000 pre-seed round.
  • Investor: Strategic investment from BasharSoft Group.
  • Mission: A unified platform for professional networking and knowledge sharing.

Unifying a Fragmented Professional Toolkit

Professionals often juggle multiple platforms to manage their careers—from Zoom for meetings and Calendly for scheduling to separate community management tools. BrainsMingle was built to address this fragmentation by offering an integrated, video-first environment where users can manage coaching sessions, bookings, payments, and communities in one place.

The platform serves individual experts as well as organizations like universities, accelerators, and corporations. These institutions can create branded digital spaces for internal learning, mentorship, and networking while retaining full ownership of their data. According to the company, it has already attracted users from over 90 countries.

“We built BrainsMingle around one belief: the most valuable professional moments happen between people, not between people and content,” said Belal Amin, Co-Founder and CEO of BrainsMingle. He explained that the goal is to provide a single space where experts can share knowledge and build communities around their expertise.

BasharSoft’s Strategic Bet on Human Capital

For BasharSoft, this investment signals a strategic move to back startups that complement its core business. With a user base of over 9 million across its platforms, the company sees professional networking and knowledge exchange as a natural extension of its work connecting talent with opportunities.

Amir Sherif, Co-Founder and Chairman of BasharSoft, noted that after 15 years in the industry, his team identified a clear gap in how expertise is exchanged online. “BrainsMingle has developed a unified platform that brings together multiple tools professionals rely on in one place,” he stated.

The investment also aligns with BasharSoft’s broader mission to empower 50 million people in their career journeys by 2030, moving beyond job placements into professional development and lifelong learning.

Scaling Product and Expanding Reach

BrainsMingle plans to use the new capital to accelerate product development, grow its team, and strengthen its market presence globally. The funding provides the runway to compete in the growing market for AI-powered workplace software as organizations seek to consolidate their communication and professional engagement tools.

The company is focused on building a global network connecting experts across technology, entrepreneurship, and creative industries, designing its platform from day one to serve professionals worldwide rather than a single region.
