Scaling Beyond Cairo
Alexandria has emerged as a dynamic coastal tech hub, demonstrating the country’s capacity to decentralize its high-value offshoring capabilities beyond the capital. An official tour led by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly highlighted state-of-the-art facilities for multinational corporations such as Teleperformance, Concentrix, Vodafone Intelligent Solutions (VOIS), and Sutherland. Together, these four global operators employ nearly 15,000 specialists in Alexandria alone, delivering complex digital, technology, and business services to global markets. This regional expansion gives international enterprises access to a highly qualified, multilingual talent pool while accelerating regional economic development.
The Demographic Dividend And Advanced Capabilities
Egypt injects approximately 750,000 university graduates into the labor market each year, underpinning its core demographic dividend. This deep, tech-literate talent pipeline is enabling the offshoring ecosystem to expand beyond traditional customer operations. Multinational groups are now operating in advanced technical domains, including semiconductor design, integrated circuit (IC) design, automotive embedded software, and complex research and development. Concurrently, global service providers are directly integrating Generative AI, automation, and advanced tech tools into their Egyptian delivery workflows to manage enterprise IT services, complex data processing, HR, and fleet management.
Global Enterprise Expansion Highlights
Today, Egypt’s offshoring ecosystem encompasses 252 companies operating across 282 global delivery centers, utilizing over 195,000 specialists. Key multinational footprint expansions include:
- Teleperformance: Employs approximately 26,800 people in Egypt, generating €280 million from exported services in 2025, and plans to add 18,000 local jobs over the next three years.
- Concentrix: Operates 13 local centers with 24,500 employees delivering services in up to 13 languages. The firm is targeting $1 billion in local investment over four years and a 35,000-person workforce by 2028.
- VOIS: Maintains its second-largest global footprint in Egypt with 9,500 specialists, generating €200 million in service exports this financial year.
- Sutherland: Has scaled substantially from 65 local employees in 2010 to over 6,000 today, delivering complex business operations and technical support in 16 languages.
