Egyptian real estate developer Tatweer Misr has announced the launch of the seventh edition of its Innovation Competition, this time in partnership with Egypt’s Entrepreneurship Awards (EEA). The initiative aims to bolster Egypt’s startup ecosystem by fostering innovation within the real estate and urban development sectors, backed by a prize pool of nearly EGP 2 million.

Quick Facts

  • Initiative: 7th Tatweer Misr Innovation Competition.
  • Partnership: Tatweer Misr and Egypt’s Entrepreneurship Awards (EEA).
  • Prize Fund: Nearly EGP 2 million in prizes and support.

Fostering Innovation from Idea to Market

Since its inception in 2017, the competition has evolved from a simple idea showcase into an integrated platform that connects innovation with practical application in real estate. The initiative has successfully attracted innovative solutions addressing real-world challenges in sustainability and urban development.

Over the past six editions, 25 contestants have been crowned winners, with several receiving direct support to transform their concepts into operational market-ready projects. This track record highlights the growing maturity of Egypt’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and the increasing quality of ideas from participants.

A Strategic Alliance to Accelerate Growth

The partnership between Tatweer Misr and EEA creates a powerful support structure for emerging startups. Tatweer Misr provides a real-world environment for testing and applying innovations, while EEA leverages its extensive network of investors and experts to help startups scale. This collaboration offers entrepreneurs a comprehensive journey from concept to market expansion.

Dr. Ahmed Shalaby, Co-founder, CEO, and Managing Director of Tatweer Misr, described the partnership as a strategic step to enhance the competition’s impact. “True creativity doesn’t stop at the idea; it extends to the ability to turn it into a tangible impact that changes the lives of participants and advances their entire journey in the world of entrepreneurship,” he stated. Shalaby emphasized that the company views the competition as an integrated journey, not just a contest.

Echoing this sentiment, Amr Mansi, Founder of EEA and CEO of I-Events, noted the partnership is an extension of a long-standing strategic collaboration. “The next phase of growth and innovation will not be led by companies alone, but by entrepreneurs who have the audacity to create real change and unconventional solutions that meet the needs of the future,” Mansi said.

Beyond the Prize Money

Tatweer Misr is offering a comprehensive package for the winners of the seventh edition valued at nearly EGP 2 million. This support extends beyond financial rewards to include practical mentorship, knowledge transfer, and valuable networking opportunities designed to accelerate the growth of participating startups.

Winners will also have the chance for direct collaboration with Tatweer Misr, a path already taken by several previous winners who have successfully integrated their solutions into the market.
