A Data-Driven Approach to Egypt’s Ecosystem

The SDR Summit has established itself as one of Egypt’s most important events for entrepreneurship and innovation. It convenes key stakeholders—from government officials and investors to founders and innovation leaders—to address investment opportunities and challenges within the startup environment. The summit centers around the annual Startup Data Report, which provides data-backed analysis to guide decision-makers, investors, and development institutions in fostering innovation-led economic growth.

Fostering Dialogue in an Innovative Hub

The choice of El Gouna as the host venue for the second consecutive year highlights its growing reputation as a center for business and innovation. The Red Sea destination offers the advanced infrastructure and inspiring environment needed for high-level dialogue and partnership building.

“We are proud of our partnership with El Gouna by Orascom Development to host the summit,” said Omar Rizk, Managing Director of Entlaq. “We believe that building impactful dialogues and real partnerships requires an environment that brings together decision-makers, investors, and entrepreneurs in an inspiring and different space, which El Gouna provides exceptionally.” He added, “The report represents a significant step towards building a national data-based reference that supports policies and enhances Egypt’s competitiveness as a regional hub for innovation and investment.”

Haitham Samir, Chief Commercial Officer of El Gouna, commented on the continued collaboration. “Hosting the SDR summit for the second year in a row reflects El Gouna’s established role as a center that supports business growth, innovation, and collaboration. After the strong impact and international reach of the last edition, we are proud to continue supporting a platform that gathers the most prominent players in Egypt’s entrepreneurship and investment scene.”

Inside the SDR 2026 Agenda

The 2026 report will expand on Entlaq’s efforts to build an annual data-driven reference, covering ten key economic sectors: FinTech, AI, HealthTech, AgriFoodTech, CleanTech, EdTech, Tourism, Creative Economy, Logistics & Mobility, and Policy & Ecosystem Development.

The summit is expected to attract over 500 participants, including 15-20 international investors and more than 29 speakers. The agenda will kick off on September 10 with the official launch of the report, followed by a high-level panel discussion with government representatives, regional investors, and corporate leaders. The three-day event will also feature specialized sector sessions, networking events, and closed-door investment meetings connecting promising Egyptian startups with regional VCs.
