Heritage Hack is inviting engineers, archaeologists and others involved in preserving and documenting architectural heritage to join an intensive field-based challenge using digital and engineering tools.
The project will take participants from photogrammetry-based surveying and architectural studies to BIM and GeoBIM digital twins. It will begin with an engineering hackathon supported by six advisory sessions led by experienced engineers, where teams will develop practical solutions for heritage documentation and reconstruction.
Participants will present their work to a judging panel of engineering consultants specialising in heritage documentation. The programme will conclude with an engineering conference bringing together heritage experts and relevant organisations.
Heritage Hack also aims to connect young engineers with employers and decision-makers through networking opportunities with consulting firms and organisations, as well as access to advanced training opportunities at specialist centres, according to the announcement.
