MENA-based technology company Hsoub has officially launched “Khbra,” a new platform designed to assess and certify the practical skills of freelancers and job candidates. The platform moves away from traditional theoretical questions, instead using scenario-based tests that simulate real-world work situations to evaluate a user’s actual capabilities.
Quick Facts
- New platform “Khbra” launched by Hsoub.
- Focuses on practical, scenario-based skill tests.
- Targets freelancers and employers across MENA.
Moving Beyond Traditional Assessments
Khbra aims to solve a persistent challenge in the hiring process: verifying that a candidate’s stated skills translate to on-the-job performance. The platform places users in situations that mirror daily work challenges, measuring how they would actually perform tasks and make decisions. This approach provides employers with a more reliable indicator of a candidate’s competence compared to traditional CVs or interviews alone.
How Khbra Works for Freelancers
Freelancers with verified identities can access a range of tests within a specific time limit. Upon completion, they receive a detailed performance report, including their score and a comparison against other participants. This allows them to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
Those who pass an exam with a score of 80% or higher are awarded a shareable digital certificate, which can be added to their professional profiles on platforms like Mostaql or LinkedIn to validate their expertise.
A New Tool for MENA Employers
For businesses and project owners, Khbra serves as an additional layer of verification in the hiring funnel. The platform’s results offer a standardized, practical metric to compare candidates. This data can be used alongside existing criteria like portfolios, user ratings, and project completion rates to make more informed hiring decisions, whether for freelance projects or full-time roles.
Initial tests on the platform cover skills relevant to the remote work and freelance economy, including:
- Freelance Platforms: Fundamentals of working on Mostaql.
- Customer Service: Customer communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Basics of Python, PHP, and JavaScript.
Hsoub plans to expand the range of available tests in the future.
