Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have opened applications for Egyptian ICT startups to join the ITIDA Innovation Bridge: Egypt × Japan program.
The initiative connects Egyptian startups with Japanese companies to develop and test proof-of-concept solutions for real business needs. Applications are open to startups working on one of seven challenges spanning technology, manufacturing and creative industries.
The challenges include digital tracking and recycling of electronic waste; AI-powered production planning; data-driven marketing for pharmacies; digital insurance channels for commercial vehicle fleets; digital insurance solutions for small and medium-sized businesses; using Egypt as a base for anime production; and tracking and analysing audience data for registered intellectual property.
Selected startups will work with Japanese companies to match their solutions to the proposed challenges and jointly develop proof-of-concept models, according to the announcement.
The deadline for Egyptian startups to submit applications is Saturday, October 17, 2026.
