Building Sustainable Ventures
Titled “Entrepreneurship to Enhance Women’s Economic and Legal Empowerment,” the program provided participants with the knowledge to establish and manage sustainable, income-generating projects. The training, led by instructors Fizan bin Naam and Sameh Maqsha, covered key areas including small project management, financial planning, marketing, and income management.
The curriculum also incorporated modules on women’s economic and social rights, as well as principles of protection, preparing the participants to engage more effectively in the local economy.
A Pathway to Financial Independence
During the closing ceremony, which was attended by Yahya Al-Yazidi, Director General of the Office of Social Affairs and Labor in Abyan, speakers highlighted the program’s role in promoting economic and social stability for women.
“The conclusion of this training program marks the beginning of a new phase for the beneficiaries,” stated Bushra Al-Saadi, head of the Ma’an Nartaqi Foundation. She explained the goal is to help them “move towards actual economic empowerment and build sustainable sources of income that enhance their independence and ability to face economic and social challenges with dignity and stability.”
Al-Saadi added that the foundation is developing an integrated pathway for women in Abyan that starts with addressing basic needs and progresses through capacity-building to create long-term development opportunities.
Strengthening Community Stability
Yahya Al-Yazidi emphasized the broader impact of such initiatives, noting that women’s economic empowerment is a critical factor in strengthening family and community stability, particularly given the current economic challenges. He commended the participants for their engagement and commitment throughout the training.
