Masdar City Free Zone has launched a new licensing package designed to make it easier for UAE citizens to start and grow businesses in Abu Dhabi.
The initiative places particular emphasis on supporting Emirati women as they launch, own and develop their companies, according to the announcement. It was introduced ahead of Emirati Women’s Day and during the UAE’s Year of the Family.
The package includes a setup fee of AED 5,000, along with free support covering a professional email address, a one-page website, an initial logo, a company profile and a dedicated LinkedIn page.
Entrepreneurs will also have access to business advisory and mentoring opportunities, including support networks intended to connect Emirati women entrepreneurs.
Masdar City Free Zone said the initiative is designed to help UAE nationals enter high-growth sectors and build the capabilities and networks needed to scale. The package supports the country’s goal of having more than 2 million registered companies by 2031 under its “Falcon Economy” strategy.
The free zone is home to more than 2,500 companies from over 90 countries. It added around 1,000 companies in 2025, increasing its total registered companies by 36% and jobs by 33% year-on-year. Its focus sectors include clean technology, smart mobility, life sciences, agri-tech and space technology.
