Humain, the Public Investment Fund’s artificial intelligence company, has expanded a data centre project with Saudi-listed Al Moammar Information Systems Company (MIS) from 50MW to 250MW.
The expanded scope adds 200MW of capacity across additional data centres, which will be developed in phases. Engineering, procurement and construction work is expected to start soon, while the original project continues according to its previously announced schedule, MIS said in a Tadawul filing.
The contract’s value was not disclosed. MIS said it exceeds 689% of its total 2025 revenue of SAR1.3 billion.
Humain said earlier this week that it will work with Microsoft to make its Allam large language model available to customers.
Saudi Arabia’s installed data centre capacity is forecast to increase from 410MW to 1GW by 2030, according to consultancy Alvarez & Marsal. The firm has estimated that the country’s AI and cloud expansion could require up to $42 billion in project capital by then, including $32 billion in debt, if about half of announced capacity is delivered.
