MBC Group has entered the global games industry with the launch of MBC Games Studio and its first title, 1001 Threads of Mizan, unveiled at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.
Inspired by the storytelling tradition of One Thousand and One Nights, the game combines exploration, adventure and combat in a handcrafted fantasy world. Players can travel across the world on a flying carpet and battle giant mythical creatures.
The game supports solo play and online co-op for up to three players, with a system that allows players to join or leave the adventure smoothly. It is being developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
A pre-alpha demo was shown at Gamescom, while MBC has not announced a release date for the full game.
The new studio is part of MBC Group’s broader expansion into digital entertainment and its effort to develop original intellectual property rooted in the region’s stories and culture for international audiences, according to the announcement.
MBC Games Studio’s team includes professionals with experience at global game studios. The company said the studio will focus on high-production-value games that combine regional storytelling with global gameplay standards.
