Meta Launches Mac App With System-Wide Dictation and Business AI Tools

Meta has launched a new Mac app for Meta AI that combines system-wide dictation with screen-aware answers powered by its Muse Spark model.

The company said users can dictate text across applications and ask Meta AI questions about what is currently displayed on their screen. The feature follows similar tools from Wispr Flow, Superwhisper and Monologue, as well as a recent system-wide dictation update for Google’s Gemini Mac app.

The release is part of a broader update aimed at business owners. Merchants can connect Instagram and Facebook accounts, Meta advertising campaigns and Google Workspace services, including Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Slides, to Meta AI.

According to the announcement, users can ask the assistant about campaign performance, audience engagement and which posts have performed well. It can also provide competitor insights based on publicly available data, and help create proposal decks, documents and spreadsheets.

Meta has been expanding its AI tools for business use, including automated customer support and inquiries across WhatsApp and Instagram. During Meta’s Q2 2026 earnings call, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the company sees an opportunity to sell AI agents that automate work for businesses.
