Microsoft has revealed pricing and specifications for two new Windows PCs built around Nvidia’s RTX Spark chip, targeting developers who want to run AI models locally.

The Surface Laptop Ultra starts at $2,600 for the base model, while a higher-performance version starts at $3,700. Configurations with additional memory and storage can reach $5,900. Microsoft said its top-end model is already out of stock.

The company also introduced the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, a workstation priced from $6,000. It includes tools such as VS Code, GitHub Copilot CLI, Windows Subsystem for Linux and PowerShell 7.

Microsoft said the devices combine their CPU, GPU, unified memory and enhanced cooling systems to run AI models on-device without cloud usage fees. They also feature a revamped Windows 11 experience with “Execution Containers,” designed to sandbox AI agents. CEO Satya Nadella said the feature will be available to all Windows 11 users.

The machines are positioned primarily for developers, with Microsoft offering up to $1,000 off customers trading in a MacBook Pro. The company also said the PCs can support content creation, video processing and gaming.

Dell separately announced pricing for its XPS 16 Creator Edition, another RTX Spark-powered Windows PC. It is available for preorder at Best Buy for $3,800, with delivery expected later in October.
