French AI company Mistral and Saudi Arabia’s PIF-owned HUMAIN have announced a strategic collaboration worth hundreds of millions of euros, covering AI infrastructure, model development and deployment in Saudi Arabia and the wider region.
The partnership will initially focus on cybersecurity and AI voice applications, as well as developing frontier models with strong Arabic-language performance. According to the announcement, Mistral will also explore using HUMAIN’s data centre infrastructure to meet rising local compute demand.
The companies plan to develop a joint go-to-market strategy in Saudi Arabia, targeting regulated industries. Their approach is based on sovereign AI, allowing customers to control where data, training and inference are handled, and to operate systems within their chosen infrastructure and jurisdictions.
The collaboration was announced at the French-Saudi Investment Roundtable in Paris during Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to France. HUMAIN CEO Tareq Amin joined the Saudi delegation.
Launched in May 2025, HUMAIN operates across data centres, infrastructure and cloud platforms, AI models, and sector-specific solutions. Mistral, headquartered in France, has been expanding its presence across the Arab world and has made Arabic-language AI a key focus.
