Morocco’s travel revenues reached MAD 79.009 billion ($7.98 billion) in the first seven months of 2026, rising 13.4% from the same period last year, according to the Exchange Office.
The increase comes as tourism and international travel continue to expand. Moroccan airports handled 22.283 million passengers between January and July, up 8.77% year on year. International traffic rose 8.82% to nearly 19.9 million passengers, including more than 16.5 million travellers from European markets.
Travel spending also increased, rising 7.3% to MAD 19.92 billion ($2.01 billion). This produced a travel surplus of MAD 59.08 billion ($5.96 billion), up 15.7% compared with the end of July 2025.
The latest figures build on a strong first half, during which Morocco received nearly 9.4 million visitors, a 6% annual increase. Travel revenues reached MAD 64.9 billion ($6.56 billion), while overnight stays in classified accommodation grew 9%.
Remittances from Moroccans living abroad also rose 8.1% during the first seven months to MAD 74.78 billion ($7.55 billion). Bank Al-Maghrib has said it is working to improve the efficiency and transparency of transfer services, expand digital access and reduce costs.
