My Syria, a super app developed by Syrian entrepreneurs based in the UAE, has signed up 12,000 active users in its first 15 days, according to co-founder Rami Kaiem.
Launched in Damascus earlier this month, the platform lets residents and visitors book hotels, cars and tourist experiences while paying through Visa, Mastercard or Amex. The company says its UAE-based structure enables it to process cross-border digital payments while Syria’s banking infrastructure remains limited.
My Syria was built by Rami Kaiem, Feras Kaiem, Waseem Qudmani and Kinan Madi through UAE-based venture 121 Living. The founders are applying experience from Dubai’s e-commerce and logistics sectors to a market where many transactions still take place offline and in cash.
The app currently offers eight services, including car rentals, hotel bookings and holiday-home rentals, mainly in Damascus. The company plans to expand to about 40 services and eventually cover the whole country.
Kaiem said the founders have committed to Syria’s Minister of Communications to address remaining gaps in international online payments within six months. The launch comes as Syria seeks to reconnect with international finance and attract investment and tourism.
