Oman-based startup Byanat is turning years of bespoke AI and data work for Gulf telecom operators into a product designed for critical infrastructure.
Founded in Muscat in April 2022 by engineers Ahmed Alghadani and Dr. Ahmed Albadi, Byanat initially worked directly with operators to benchmark network data and generate operational insights. The company said those projects exposed a repeatable challenge: fragmented, multi-vendor data systems that needed to be cleaned, structured and governed before AI could be trusted.
Byanat has since productized that underlying data foundation rather than the individual insights. Its platform runs on customers’ own hardware and inside their facilities, helping operators use operational data for incident investigation, capacity planning, and power and cooling optimization.
The company was incubated at Omantel Innovation Labs and raised a 2023 seed round from 500 Global, Sanabil Investments, Omantel and Al Jabr MENA. In February 2025, Golden Gate Ventures led its Pre-Series A alongside Qatar Development Bank, Omantel Innovation Labs, Salcia Oryx Fund, Waad Investment and PlusVC.
Byanat now operates from Muscat, Riyadh and Doha. According to Michael Lints of Golden Gate Ventures, its product discipline is straightforward: the platform should work for the next customer without code changes, with customer-specific requirements handled through configuration and deployment.
