Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has graduated 10 technology companies from the third cycle of its Wasil program, while launching the fourth cycle with 12 new companies.
The graduating startups operate across industrial technology, healthtech, media, agriculture, e-commerce, enterprise technology and logistics. The companies named in the announcement include Syook, which uses industrial IoT and artificial intelligence for real-time asset tracking and safety management, and Digital Petroleum, which develops AI-enabled sensor technology for industrial facilities.
The cohort also includes healthtech companies Medica and Eshfaa. Medica automates insurance and financial management for hospitals and clinics, while Eshfaa coordinates healthcare and medical tourism services for patients in Qatar and abroad.
In media and publishing, Aligator uses AI to analyse media content and manage corporate reputation in Arabic and English. Rawi offers Arabic-language audiobooks, educational programmes, documentaries, podcasts and other content.
Faraj Abdullah, director of digital economy at the ministry, said Wasil has supported participating companies through capacity building, mentoring, investment-readiness support and connections with investors and strategic partners. The programme has also helped startups develop growth plans and expansion strategies, according to the announcement.
