Qatar-based delivery and quick-commerce company Snoonu has acquired US restaurant discovery app BiteSight in its first international acquisition. The financial terms were not disclosed.
The deal gives Snoonu ownership of BiteSight’s product, brand and core technology. BiteSight co-founders Bernardo Burbua Quiroga and Lucius McDaniel IV will join Snoonu to develop restaurant discovery features and expand the app across markets in the region, according to the announcement.
Founded in New York, BiteSight combines short-form food videos, restaurant discovery and ordering. Users can browse dishes, see recommendations and ratings from friends, save restaurants and order through the app. The startup participated in Y Combinator’s Winter 2024 batch.
BiteSight said a TikTok video in June 2025 helped drive a sharp increase in usage, pushing the app to No. 18 overall on the US App Store and No. 2 in food and beverage within 15 minutes. The company reported 714% user growth and more than 100,000 new users in the days that followed. Snoonu said the app had surpassed 150,000 downloads by the time of the acquisition announcement.
BiteSight previously raised $1.5M in pre-seed funding from Y Combinator and SurgePoint Capital. The app was available only in New York before the deal.
The acquisition follows Snoonu’s expansion into Kuwait and its investments in Qatari startups through Snoonu Startup Factory.
