The ReRoute project has concluded in Latakia after supporting around 50 startups and struggling businesses with guidance aimed at helping them overcome operational challenges and remain active in local markets.
Led by Junior Chamber International Latakia under the sponsorship of the Latakia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the project began in February and focused on planning, reaching target customers, financing and financial management. Participants were connected with experts, financing providers and investors.
Five projects qualified under the programme’s criteria: dragon fruit cultivation, a healthy food platform, Ma Vision agency, a tourism guide project and a beeswax honey venture. According to project director Hadeel Ismail, the selected businesses received individual sessions with specialists to identify challenges and develop practical recovery and growth plans.
The project also created a database documenting entrepreneurs and the challenges facing their businesses. Organisers said the programme provided support in financial management, marketing, strategy and legal matters.
The Latakia Chamber of Commerce and Industry provided incubation and expertise, while Ibdaa Microfinance Bank offered financing opportunities to several entrepreneurs. One selected project also received an investment opportunity, according to the announcement.
