Cairo-based AI community People of Data has secured the patronage of Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates for Egypt Eternal Voices, a programme training young Egyptians to document the country’s heritage through AI-generated short films.

Under a signed Letter of Intent, selected films will be made available to Egyptian diplomatic missions abroad for cultural events and other occasions. The initiative is designed to help participants present Egypt’s history, culture and identity to international audiences.

Launched by People of Data, which was founded in 2023 to build AI skills among young Egyptians, Egypt Eternal Voices is described as the country’s first AI film award. Participants create short films using AI tools, covering Egyptian civilisation, tangible and intangible heritage, and national identity, with guidance from historical references.

According to the announcement, the programme has trained 1,000 young Egyptians and produced 120 films representing 20 governorates. Selected works will be shown at the closing ceremony, although no date has been announced.

The agreement supports Egypt’s Second National Artificial Intelligence Strategy for 2025-2030, which focuses on developing national AI talent and strengthening the country’s regional and international position.
