BanaBoard, a student team from Egypt’s Samanoud Technological University, won third place in the national finals of Rally Startup Egypt, receiving a prize of EGP 50,000.

The competition brought together startup projects from universities across Egypt. According to the announcement, more than 5,000 ideas and projects entered the competition, with around 1,200 selected for university-based training and qualification. The process then narrowed the field to the top three teams from each university, followed by regional qualifiers across seven geographic regions.

Twenty-one startups reached the national finals, from which three winners were selected. BanaBoard was among them, taking third place.

The competition is part of the Egypt Entrepreneurship Rally series, organised under the sponsorship of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, with a strategic partnership from the National Bank of Egypt and other ecosystem organisations.

Samanoud Technological University said its Innovation Centre and Entrepreneurship Club supported the team through training, mentoring and preparation. University officials described the result as evidence of students’ ability to compete nationally while developing ideas into practical, scalable ventures.
