Saudi Arabia’s Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority has completed the transfer of databases from 213 government entities to Deem Cloud, the country’s central government cloud platform, according to the announcement.
Launched in 2018, Deem Cloud provides a unified environment for hosting and managing government data. The platform is designed to consolidate infrastructure from hundreds of separate data centers while offering cloud computing and software services on a pay-per-use model.
The company said the model can help reduce waste, improve resource management and support more efficient government spending. The platform also includes cybersecurity solutions developed in cooperation with specialized security authorities.
Official data cited in the announcement showed that government spending on cloud computing rose 42% in 2025 compared with the previous year. Spending on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies grew 20% over the same period.
The government’s digital transformation ecosystem generated more than SAR9.5B in direct economic impact and SAR3.5B in indirect impact, while contributing to the creation of more than 7,000 local jobs.
Deem Cloud also helped raise local content in government software purchases to 49%. Cumulative spending through framework agreements exceeded SAR11B last year, while digital procurement execution surpassed 70% and procurement cycles were reduced by more than 90%.
