In a major push for its ongoing digital transformation, Saudi energy giant Aramco is collaborating with solutions by stc, a leading digital enabler in the region, to deploy a next-generation supercomputer. The project, valued at $372.5 million (SAR 1.4 billion), is set to become the largest high-performance computing infrastructure in Aramco’s history, designed to significantly advance its hydrocarbon discovery and recovery operations.

Powering Upstream Operations
The new supercomputer will be a critical tool for Aramco’s Upstream division, providing the massive computational power needed for advanced seismic data processing and large-scale reservoir modeling. By enhancing its ability to analyze immense volumes of data, Aramco aims to maximize recovery rates from existing fields across Saudi Arabia and potentially extend their operational longevity. Project Scope and Deployment

The system will leverage advanced technologies from global leaders in high-performance computing and is expected to be a cornerstone of Aramco’s digital strategy upon its delivery in early 2027.
