The platform connects residents with local tradespeople across more than 35 categories, allowing customers to contact service providers directly through WhatsApp without paying commissions.
Saudi startup Laqeeni (لاقيني) has expanded its free trades directory to Jeddah, following its launch in Riyadh in October 2026. The platform helps residents find local service providers, including plumbers, electricians, AC technicians, painters, carpenters and cleaners, and contact them directly through WhatsApp.
Co-founded by Heba Baraqan and Christopher Joseph, Laqeeni was inspired by Baraqan’s experience moving from Jeddah to Riyadh in 2022. Without an established local network, finding reliable tradespeople often meant relying on classified advertisements or personal recommendations.
The platform aims to make that process easier by giving tradespeople searchable profile pages that can appear on Google, while helping residents find service providers by city and trade.
Unlike many home-services marketplaces, Laqeeni does not charge customers or tradespeople commissions. Customers contact providers directly to discuss services and pricing. Tradespeople can also build their profiles through customer reviews and apply for a verification badge.
Laqeeni covers more than 35 trades and provides free guides in Arabic and English, including information on typical service prices and questions customers should ask before hiring.
Following its expansion to Jeddah, the company is also opening registration to tradespeople in Dammam, Al Khobar and Dhahran. The platform currently lists selected services in these Eastern Province cities, with further coverage being developed.
