Sustainability Forum Middle East (SFME), in partnership with Tabreed Bahrain and Boston Consulting Group (BCG), has announced the speaker lineup for its upcoming decarbonisation roundtable in Bahrain. The event, scheduled for June 3, 2026, will focus on fast-tracking the Kingdom’s National Energy Strategy by addressing critical energy efficiency challenges.

Global Expertise Meets Local Strategy

The high-level session will gather government officials, utility providers, developers, and financial institutions to map out Bahrain’s energy transition. The discussion will open with a fireside chat featuring Lily Riahi, Head of the Buildings and Cooling Unit at the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).

Moderated by Pablo Avogadri, a Partner and Director at BCG, the chat will explore the “Global Cooling Challenge,” linking international energy efficiency goals with Bahrain’s specific climate resilience needs.

Tackling Bahrain’s Cooling Conundrum

A central panel will dive into the role of district cooling and demand-side infrastructure in curbing Bahrain’s electricity consumption, particularly during peak demand. The discussion aims to find a balance between supply-side investments and scalable, demand-focused solutions that align with the country’s climate commitments.

The panel, moderated by BCG’s Project Leader Lukas C. Jochem, will feature key industry figures including:
