UAE-based Space42 has launched the Future Spacers Program, a talent development initiative giving Emirati students practical exposure to space technology, artificial intelligence, data management and other emerging fields.
The program will run for up to 16 weeks at Space42 facilities, combining technical seminars, hands-on industry experience and professional skills development. Its inaugural 2026 cohort includes students from Khalifa University of Science and Technology, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence and Zayed University, along with school students identified by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge.
Participants will explore space technology applications and the use of AI to analyse large volumes of data. Space42 specialists will also guide them through real-world industry challenges while developing skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, communication and adaptability.
Students were selected based on factors including enrolment in relevant STEM fields, minimum GPA requirements and interviews. Those who complete the program will receive Space42 certification recognised by partner entities.
The company said it plans to run new cohorts twice a year as part of its broader support for the UAE National Space Strategy 2031. Space42 has not disclosed the size of the inaugural cohort.
